Latest reports below:

NOVEMBER / DECEMBER 2002

BRANDON

Brandon, our oldest son, is the president of the student counsel for the International Christian School (ICS) of St Petersburg. As president he was invited to a leadership conference in Budapest, Hungary, which is a 3 hour flight from St Petersburg, Russia. The conference was attended by more than 150 student leaders from several different countries.

FURLOUGH

Plans are for Brandon to return to America in June 2003 and begin his college education in the fall. We also plan a furlough of about 6 months to coincide with his return to America. During that time we plan to visit supporting churches and those interested in Russian Missions.

PAPERWORK

Some parts of a missionarys life are downright boring. During the past 2 months we have:

1. Been re registering the church in city center. A change in laws within Russia compels every church to re-register.

2. Registering the church in Kupchino.

3. Starting a foundation that will help in purchasing property, but will limit tax liability for the pastors whose churches purchase property using the foundation.

4. Started a Local Association of Independent Baptist Churches whose doctrine and goals are the same as ours.

5. Been preparing the groundwork so we can legally register other churches that are of like faith. If things work out like we hope, we would be able to legally register churches all over Russia, and not just in St Petersburg.

We have been working on these things for almost 2 years, but just recently it seemed that everything starting falling into place.

BUILDING FUND

Help us with our building fund, please! Offerings can be sent to our sponsoring church, but need to be specifically marked for the Russian Building Fund. Missionary helper Yoko Sato started working with us 2 years ago last September. She gets ahead of me sometimes and has already been raising money for the building fund for 3 months. The Japanese churches that support her have already given over $900 toward the building fund. How did she get ahead? I began doing the paper work and she just assumed I would get it all figured out sooner or later and started raising money.

NEW LOCAL ASSOCIATION

We formed and hosted our first local association meeting on November 7th. Seven churches were represented and all voted to work together on issues that concern all new ministries and churches.

SEMINARY

We are also planning to start Bible classes in January. Hopefully with lots of prayers and help those classes will solidify into a strong Seminary training pastors for ministry. We have tentative plans for missionary Joe Morrel of Lithuania to come and help us organize our efforts in September 2003. If you have a desire to teach short, intensive Bible lessons in the former Soviet Union, please contact us.

EVANGELISM

We hope to dedicate one Sunday per month, per church as a specific opportunity for evangelism in larger facilities than we now use. Our goal is to preach Christ and grow. These evangelistic efforts began in November.

THANK YOU
All our different ministries are doing well. We are seeing good results. The fruit of these ministries simply would not be possible without your prayers and support. May God richly bless you. Kevin
