MAY REPORT
LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE
The leadership conference during April was great. My pastor, Coy Wylie, along with Richard Hamlin and James Kirkland did a great job. It was really impressive to me that they had literally hundreds of pages of type written notes between them. They were totally prepared and it was evident to all who participated.
In this 4 day conference there were 45 hours of lectures. It was an exhausting schedule to say the least. I expected them to minister to the Russians, but it was a time of spiritual refreshing for me. I am truly grateful to them for sharing their experience with us.
ANOTHER CONFERENCE?
We would like to plan another conference for the fall. In order to do so, we need teachers/speakers for the lectures. It is all about modeling leadership. You will be teaching capable men who will in like respect teach others, (II Tim 2:2). Let me know if you would like to participate in our ministries here in Saint Petersburg, Russia. THANK GOD FOR GERMANS
While we were in conference there was a team of Germans who came and passed out 250,000 brochures for the correspondence course Emmaus. They passed out 125,000 in Kupchino for us even though we were unable to join them. We have already received more than 50 responses.
I never met anyone who participated in this German team. God who does more than I ask or think.
CURRENT MINISTRIES
TWO CHURCHES
At present we have two churches, one in city center, and one in Kupchino. The church in Kupchino meets in Mishas apartment. We need facilities, churches buildings, for both churches. Designated Building Fund offerings would be very helpful.
TWO CORRESPONDENCE MINISTRIES
Trans World Radio (TWR) Program
This year Macedonia Missionary Service (MMS) began broadcasting into Eastern Europe and the former Soviet republics. We work with them answering all Russian correspondence. We are thankful to TWR and MMS for this opportunity to serve. The purpose is evangelism and church planting. We have responded to approximately 100 letters in various parts of Eastern Europe and the former USSR.
Emmaus
Oleg Gagarin came to us about 1 ½ years ago. Last fall he graduated from this course and became an instructor. In just a few short months he has more than 70 students.
DAILY BIBLE LESSONS
Tuesday through Friday we have an in-depth Bible study in the office. This has truly enhanced the spiritual growth of all who particpate.
OPERATION CENTURION
Just recently we received 111 Bibles which are prepared specifically for soldiers. They have the Russian military coat of arms on a water proof camoflage cover. We have just begun a program to work with Russian soldiers.
PRAYER REQUESTS
Most of the people we work with are unchurched. Most need to be saved. All need spiritual growth.
Pray for salvation, spiritual growth and the church planting needs of all those who correspond with us.
Pray about worship facilities for the churches we are planting in Saint Petersburg.
Pray for Russian soldiers.
And dont forget to pray for us.
